The issue features two stories: "The Dangerous Mission," in which a scouting party of twelve frontiersmen, including young Jim Blainey, is sent during the 1776 American Revolution to make contact with Mohawk Indians and assess their strength, but they are attacked by a large Indian force and forced to retreat through the forest while being pursued; and a comedic Toodles Twins story in which the red-haired twins cause trouble in the snow, nearly hitting an old man named Mr. Wormwood with a snowball, prompting him to accuse them of deliberately targeting him.
