“The Son of Tracker”

DC's frontier adventure series delivers a wild prehistoric twist in this October 1962 issue, with cover art by Fred Ray showing Tomahawk and his companions bound and helpless on the ground while a massive, snarling pink dinosaur looms over them from the rocky terrain behind. A warrior in feathered headdress looks on from a stone structure as the captives desperately wonder aloud how they can possibly escape the beast while hog-tied — a genuinely gripping setup. Titled "The Lost Land of the Paleface Tribe!" on the cover, this issue blends frontier action with lost-world adventure in a way that made DC's 12-cent books such an entertaining bargain in 1962.
