“Part 1: The "Dragon" Killers”

Tomahawk and his Rip-Roaring Rangers face double trouble in this February 1966 DC adventure, as the cover — illustrated by Bob Brown — throws our hero into simultaneous chaos: a massive, tooth-filled prehistoric creature lunges from the left while armed fighters clash on the rocky terrain behind him. The cover copy promises "a prehistoric nightmare suddenly roaring into life" right in the middle of a blazing battleground, and the image absolutely delivers on that wild premise. It's the kind of imaginative mash-up that made DC's frontier titles such a lively corner of 1960s comics.
