Tom & Jerry Comics #88

This November 1951 Dell issue delivers a wonderfully seasonal cover by Harvey Eisenberg, showing Tom rigged up as a scarecrow — arms outstretched across a wooden crossbeam, dressed in a blue coat and hat — while a cheeky Jerry rolls an enormous pumpkin right past him in a patch scattered with hay and smaller gourds. The setup perfectly captures the cat-and-mouse dynamic at its most gleefully one-sided, with Tom helplessly playing decoration while Jerry makes off with the harvest. Inside, Eisenberg's crisp, animation-faithful linework carries through to the stories, including "Delicatessen" written by Jack Cosgriff.
