This March 1951 Dell issue puts the eternal cat-and-mouse duo front and center in a wonderfully chaotic scene — Tom looks on in wide-eyed alarm as Jerry scrambles across a bright yellow umbrella, with the duo's antics also playfully showcased in a filmstrip panel along the left edge. Cover pencils by Lynn Karp capture that loose, expressive energy that made these cartoons so irresistible, and at 52 pages of all comics for just a dime, this was a genuinely generous read for any young fan in 1951.
