Tom swoops in with wide-eyed hunger as Jerry and a tiny companion make off with the entire contents of a red picnic box — chicken leg, cupcake, and all — in this delightfully chaotic Dell cover penciled by Lynn Karp. The filmstrip border running down the left side hints at the cartoon energy packed into all 52 pages inside. A charming 1950 entry in the long-running series, it's the kind of cover that makes you root for both sides at once.
