“How to Stop a Purring Puss”

In "How to Stop a Purring Puss," the scheming M'sieur Poosycat concocts a fake elixir of youth to trick the aging king into handing over the throne. When a baby mouse resembling the beloved Musketeer Jeree' appears, Poosycat spins a tale that the king's trusted warrior has been transformed—leaving the Mouse Musketeers scrambling to prove the truth before the kingdom is lost. Harvey Eisenberg handles pencils, inks, and cover art, bringing his distinctive style to this 1959 Dell classic, where a 10-cent adventure unfolds with clever mischief and classic slapstick.

M'sieur Poosycat develops a phony elixir of youth for the old age-fearing king in order to be granted the kingdom in exchange. The appearance of a lost baby mouse that looks like Musketeer Jeree' (Jerry) plays right into the villainous Poosycat's plans when he convinces the king that his trusted musketeer has consumed the elixir and reverted to a baby. Will the Mouse Musketeers find a way to keep their overanxious king from trading his kingdom for a bottle of a useless, foul-tasting concoction?
