Tom & Jerry Comics #148
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis November 1956 Dell issue captures a wonderfully chaotic moment: Tom looms wide-eyed over a dresser top while a tiny mouse in red shorts plays a flute, sending musical notes drifting through the air, as Jerry lurks nearby looking thoroughly unimpressed by the performance. Harvey Eisenberg's cover art brings real charm and expressiveness to the familiar duo, balancing Tom's startled bulk against the miniature musician's confident serenade. It's a delightful snapshot of the series' signature mix of mischief and absurdity, available for just a dime.

In the unusually high desert heat, Wuff and Sammy dream of having a swimming pool. They receive a wanted poster offering a reward for the capture of The Armadillo Kid and devise a trap for the bandit, so they can buy a swimming pool with the reward money. Also suffering from the heat, Charlie Coyote gets the same idea but decides to lay back until Wuff and Sammy spring their trap, and then muscle-in on the reward. Ultimately, and unwittingly, Charlie plays a part in the capture of The Armadillo Kid, forcing Wuff and Sammy to find a safe way to share their new pool with the carnivorous coyote.
