“Gopher-Gagged Gardeners”

In "Gopher-Gagged Gardeners," a mysterious bottle washes ashore with a chain letter promising good luck if its message is passed on—twenty copies, sealed in bottles, tossed into the ocean. While Spike scoffs at the idea, Tyke takes the note with earnest enthusiasm, determined to follow the instructions and catch a bit of luck. Art by Lynn Karp and cover by Harvey Eisenberg bring the seaside oddity to life in this 1971 Western Publishing classic.

A bottle washes ashore containing a chain letter requesting that the finder "make twenty copies of this note, place them in bottles, and throw bottles in ocean!
