With the team down, Captain America—wearing his outdated, ill-fitting uniform—steps forward as the last line of defense. Written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Alan Davis, with inks by Paul Neary and colors by John A. Wilcox, this 1990 issue features a striking cover by Ciro Tota.

An alternate dimension (and very evil) version of Excalibur comes to earth to rescue their versions of Moira and Callisto who have been captured. Excalibur gets in the way but is beaten down. Cap is the last hero standing and dons his old (ill fitting) uniform to face his foes.
