In "Splash!", the New Mutants journey to X-Factor's Ship in search of a place to belong, only to find themselves caught in a deep-sea mystery when the X-Terminators uncover an ancient horn beneath the waves. The blast of the horn summons a massive octopus attack, forcing Namor, the Sub-Mariner, to dive in and help the young heroes defend the ship. With X-Factor’s support and the Sub-Mariner’s might, order is restored—but the sea still holds secrets.
In "L'épée à double tranchant," a dark, alternate-dimension Excalibur—led by the tyrannical Hauptmann Englande and his Lightning Squad—invades Earth to reclaim their captured versions of Moira MacTaggert and Callisto. With the original Excalibur overwhelmed, Captain Britain stands alone, forced to don his outdated, ill-fitting uniform to face the evil counterparts who wield his own legacy as a weapon.
