This issue contains two main stories. In the first story, a man of few words negotiates a real estate deal worth fifty thousand dollars with his lawyer; his brevity impresses a woman named Mabel, and they soon become engaged and move into a luxurious new house. In the second story, Go-Go must choose between attending a "Fountain of Youth" event with her friends or delivering a ring, and after internal debate, she opts to deliver the ring but then joins her friends anyway, arriving late and accidentally hitting someone with the ring in an enthusiastic entrance. An additional backup story features Animal and a football team discovering that one of the football players, nicknamed "Yoomer," can throw his voice about thirty yards, leading to comedic confusion during a locker room scene.

Call Me Mousie
5 pp

Animal declares his independence from Go-Go's bossy demands, inspired by a friend's pep talk about standing up to women—but when he arrives at Tippy's to prove he's his own man, he discovers that Tommy, who he thought was independent, is actually completely under Tippy's thumb, jumping to her every command. With his grand gesture of defiance already made, Animal has to face the awkward reality of his rebellion in front of the very person he meant to impress.

Strategy Tragedy
6 pp · Teen

Animal's romance with Go-Go hits a snag when she starts dating the wealthy Rodney Van Pugh the Seventh, but his friend Eggy has a solution: reverse psychology. When Animal puts the strategy to work at Go-Go's lawn party, he discovers that winning her back comes with an unexpected cost—one that leaves him serving more than just compliments.

Who's Zoo?
2 pp

Animal takes his friend's young cousin Roscoe to the zoo for an educational outing, but the boy has a hilariously creative way of identifying the animals that leaves Animal with some unexpected lessons of his own. This lighthearted romp shows that sometimes the most fun comes from seeing the world through a kid's wild imagination.

Oil's Well That Ends Well
9 pp · Teen

When Mr. West discovers oil beneath his humble home, he hatches a scheme to outwit the shrewd businessman who tried to buy the property cheap—but his newfound greed and a series of mishaps involving his daughter Go-Go and her friend Animal keep derailing his grand plans. As West chases bigger and bigger deals, the truth about what's really on his land threatens to catch up with him in the most ironic way possible.

Think Mink!
8 pp · Teen

When Animal forgets Go-Go's birthday, he scrambles to find the perfect gift—and thinks he's struck gold with a luxurious mink stole from a fur shop. But there's a catch: the stole isn't his to keep, it's a delivery he's supposed to make for the store, and Go-Go's excitement about wearing it threatens to derail his job. As the two navigate the temptation and the consequences, a surprise twist about who the gift was really meant for changes everything.

Thrown For a Loss!
8 pp · Teen

Animal finally makes the varsity team and is eager to prove himself in the big game against Fairfax—but a voice-throwing novelty gadget he buys turns into a practical joke that spirals hilariously out of control. When his teammates keep falling for the gimmick, Animal finds himself locked away and unable to reach the field, leaving his girlfriend Go-Go watching from the stands with increasingly mixed feelings about the whole situation. By the time Animal does show up, the damage to his reputation—and his relationship—may already be done.

Very Mad Hatter
5 pp · Teen

Tommy needs help picking out a birthday gift for Tippy, so he enlists Peggy Fleagle—his longtime rival—to assist him with five dollars and no questions asked. When Peggy spots the perfect hat shop, she seizes the chance to buy the most ridiculous, hideous hat imaginable, complete with glued-on grapes and a hot dog, certain it will drive poor Tippy crazy. But Tommy's got a surprise waiting when Peggy discovers the joke's on her—the monstrosity was meant for someone else all along.
