Tarzan is restored to his position as War Chief of Taanor, following his clever plan to destroy an invading air fleet. He then leads his native forces against the invading infantry, who have superior weapons including tanks, and many of his men are killed. Tarzan hits upon an idea to enlist the aid of his friends among the jungle beasts. He first encounters a tribe of great apes, fights one of them for supremacy and wins. But by consensus the apes decide not to join the fighting.
