With help from a troupe of circus performers, Bombo stages a series of lively, over-the-top antics that expose the man’s illness as rooted in his mind. The story, drawn with energetic flair by Bernard Dibble, finds joy in the absurd, and the cover by Rudolph Dirks captures the zany spirit of the circus world.
El Bombo takes a somber turn when he discovers Mr. Biltybux has fallen into a deep depression, with his doctor fearing the worst. Determined to help, Bombo enlists the chaotic energy of Tippy Topper and other circus performers to rouse the man from his funk—only to find that laughter might be the strangest kind of medicine. When Mr. Biltybux finally snaps out of it, the cure leads to a wild celebration that leaves the whole circus in stitches.
