Tintin and Snowy go as reporters to the Belgian Congo, where the Ba Baoro'm witch doctor and a mysterious white villain plot against him. Tintin evades their threats with the help of Catholic missionary priests. The Congolese people have followed Tintin's exploits in Le Petit Vigntième, and are delighted to meet him; in fact, they quickly acknowledge the white boy as their leader. Tintin learns that the threats he's been facing stem from Al Capone's attempts to control the diamond trade, and returns to Belgium for his next assignment.
