Tijl #1
Ron Schuijt's Tijl launches with "De twist in het sticht," and the cover sets a wonderfully chaotic medieval tone: a lanky, red-bearded fellow and a stocky young companion sprint away from a magnificent Gothic tower engulfed in roaring flames, while an agitated crowd looms in the smoky background. Schuijt's warm, rounded art style gives the scene an irresistible energy — equal parts peril and mischief — making this opening volume from Strip2000/Syndikaat a very promising start to the series.
