Thunderbolts #80
This 2003 issue of Thunderbolts sports a wonderfully cheeky cover by Francisco Ruiz Velasco, designed as a spoof supermarket tabloid complete with bold headlines and teaser blurbs. Center stage is a powerful, dark-haired woman rendered in moody grayscale, wrapped in webbing while a miniaturized Spider-Man dangles to her right and a tiny brawler flies off to her left — all underscored by mock-magazine copy asking "Who is the Greatest?!" The inside story, "Getting Even," is written and illustrated entirely by Arcudi and Velasco, promising the same playful energy that makes this cover such a genuinely fun snapshot of the series at its most irreverent.
