Thunderbolts #52 brings a striking confrontation to the cover, courtesy of penciler Patrick Zircher and inker Al Vey: Captain America — shield raised and fist clenched — charges headlong into the armored, green-cloaked figure of Doctor Doom, while a red-haired young woman in goggles scrambles in the foreground amid crackling energy. It's a tense, kinetic image that signals "The Pursuit of Justice" will be anything but straightforward. Writer Fabian Nicieza's 2001 run on this series continues to make the Thunderbolts corner of the Marvel Universe one of its most compelling.
