Thunderbolts #43 pitches two of Marvel's most recognizable operatives into a rooftop-level chase across a gleaming cityscape — Hawkeye lunges forward in the foreground with a glowing-tipped arrow at the ready, while Black Widow leaps dynamically behind him, her red hair blazing and her Widow's Bite gauntlet crackling. The tagline "Partners in Crime… One More Time!" sets a perfectly charged tone for this team-up, rendered with kinetic energy by the cover art of Mark Bagley and Greg Adams. With Fabian Nicieza scripting "Chasing Your Own Tail!" this 2000 issue makes a strong case that the Thunderbolts corner of the Marvel Universe was one of its most entertaining.
