In the year 2170, earth has become New Asgard and Thor rules supreme. Even so, some of his subjects including his own son, question the veracity of dominating mankind and putting all dissenters into Loki's reconditioning centers. Thor has a vivid nightmare about a time in the past when Earth's heroes, aided by Balder, almost defeated him and robbed him of his throne. Trusted advisor, Thialfi, continues to work behind the scenes to end Asgard's reign on Earth.
