The cover of this May 1999 issue says it all with its blunt, unsettling tagline — "Powerless Before Perrikus!" — as a massive, armored dark figure looms over a helpless blonde man kneeling on the ground, fists clenched in desperate defiance. Lee Weeks' cover art makes Perrikus feel genuinely overwhelming, his sweeping black cloak and imposing frame dwarfing the vulnerable figure below him. With Dan Jurgens writing, John Romita Jr. on interior pencils, and Klaus Janson inking, this second chapter of "The Dark Wars" trilogy promises a Thor in real trouble.
