This Is Suspense #24
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA tension-filled snapshot from Charlton's mid-1950s suspense anthology, this issue features cover art by Dick Giordano (pencils) with inks by Vince Alascia. The cover is a masterclass in dread: a wide-eyed blonde woman clutches a telephone receiver in one hand and a Daily-Times newspaper — its headline screaming "ESCAPED CON-VICT STILL AT LARGE!" — in the other, while in the foreground a threatening hand snips through her telephone cord with a pair of scissors, leaving her utterly cut off. It's exactly the kind of nerve-wracking image that made suspense comics irresistible in 1955.
