Segar's Thimble Theatre, covering the character's debut in 1929 through 1930. It includes the complete continuity from Popeye's first appearance as a one-eyed sailor to his early adventures with Olive Oyl, Castor Oyl, and the Sea Hag. Published by Hyperion Press in 1977 as part of their library of classic comic strip reprints, this volume preserves the original black-and-white newspaper dailies and color Sundays from the strip's formative years.
