About this Collection

This volume collects the first six issues of the 2005 comic series based on the hit television show The X-Files, published by Checker Book Publishing Group. The stories feature FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigate paranormal cases, continuing the show's blend of conspiracy, horror, and science fiction. Written by Frank Spotnitz and drawn by various artists, this edition kicks off the comic adaptation of the series' mythology.

In "One Player Only," F.B.I. Agent Dana Scully is paired with the enigmatic Fox “Spooky” Mulder on their first case together, sending them to the isolated town of Bellefleur, Oregon. As they investigate the strange deaths of four high school graduates, eerie patterns emerge—three more classmates are now in peril, and the clues point to something beyond the grasp of logic. Written by Chris Carter and Roy Thomas, with art by John Van Fleet and colors by Digital Chameleon, this 2005 launch of The X-Files comic series sets a haunting tone from the first page.
