Tied to the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation's concept album of the same name, The Unforgiving #2 continues "Penance: Part Two" with a cover that instantly unsettles — a terrified figure, face contorted in fear, is trapped and reaching outward while dark, grasping silhouettes loom from the shadows around them. Romano Molenaar's cover pencils and inks capture a raw, claustrophobic dread that sets an appropriately ominous tone for this 2011 series. With Steven O'Connell writing and a strong art team including inker Le Beau L. Underwood and colorists Ada Zhu, Niel Vredeveldt, and Oscar Stegehuis, this is a visually striking entry in a project that bridges rock music storytelling with sequential art.
