“Strangler in Paradise”

DC's long-running anthology of dread delivers another installment of "Shocking Stories of Menace and Mystery" with this April 1976 entry. Luis Dominguez's cover sets an unsettling scene: a woman in a white dress and a tuxedoed man recoil in horror as an enormous, coiling serpent rears up before them, its jaws wide open — all while glittering diamonds and gold rings scatter across the foreground. With a story titled "Strangler in Paradise" and that chilling tagline asking if you have the nerve to face the Unexpected, this one promises exactly the kind of creeping menace the series does so well.
