The Unbelievable Gwenpool #17

Gwenpool quite literally bursts out of the comic panels surrounding her on this playful cover by Gurihiru and Chifuyu Sasaki, her pink-and-white costume center stage as she reaches upward while various versions of herself — sword-wielding, wide-eyed and screaming, lounging anime-style — fill the surrounding vignettes. It's a wonderfully self-aware image that leans into the character's meta-comic sensibility with real charm and visual wit. Christopher Hastings and Gurihiru's 2017 series continues to look like one of Marvel's most inventive and visually distinctive ongoing runs.
