The Unbelievable Gwenpool #12

Things are not going great for Gwenpool — she's tied up with rope, screaming in her pink-and-white costume as tiny Gwenpool dolls ride a conveyor belt straight into a roaring fire, while a gigantic grinning redheaded woman looms over the whole scene and another redhead watches gleefully from a framed portrait on the wall. Gisèle Lagacé's cover for issue #12 (2017) leans fully into the series' absurdist, self-aware humor, packing genuine peril and surreal comedy into one colorful, confetti-strewn image. It's the kind of cover that makes you do a double-take and then immediately want to know what on earth is going on inside.
