The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #15
The title may read The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, but issue #15 cheekily crosses out "Squirrel Girl" in favor of one smug, tongue-out white cat named Mew — and a red arrow pointing right at her makes sure you don't miss the joke. Through the window behind Mew, a cloaked, skull-faced figure and two other characters tumble through what looks like a chaotic outdoor brawl, while Mew herself couldn't be less concerned, perfectly content on the windowsill as a small bird perches nearby. Erica Henderson's cover has a wonderfully dry sense of humor, and with Ryan North writing and Rico Renzi on colors, this 2017 Marvel gem promises the series' signature blend of heart and absurdist wit.
