“The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!”

Few comics from 1989 promised quite this much spectacle: a muscle-bound, long-haired wrestler hoists a Transformer clean over his head inside a packed wrestling ring, with a referee and roaring crowd looking on as the cover copy declares it "Man vs. Machine — in a Duel to the Death!" José Delbo's pencils and Danny Bulanadi's inks sell every straining sinew of the showdown, making "The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!" feel like the most audacious crossover of kayfabe and Cybertronian combat imaginable. The banner also teases the Decepticon Micromasters, so this August issue is packed with reasons to step into the ring.
