“The Tenth Circle”

In "The Tenth Circle," writer Jodi Picoult and artist Dustin Weaver craft a haunting journey as Duncan, grappling with sudden violent transformations, ventures into Hell to rescue his daughter Tracy after she's taken by a demon. Guided by the enigmatic Virgil, he traverses the nine circles, uncovering a past that redefines his identity—revealing he was once an angel, then a devil, and now stands at the threshold of his true self. In the final circle, faced with a maze of mirrors, Duncan must confront what he truly is, leading to a quiet, resonant resolution where father and daughter are reunited, and a fragile peace is restored.

When a demon snatches Duncan's daughter, he pursues them into Hell. Guided by Virgil he fights through each circle, revealing that he recently became subject to abrupt transformations into a violent monster. In the 9th Circle the Dark Lord informs Duncan that they were both once angels, and later devils. In the 10th circle Duncan can only rescue Tracy if he finds his true image among dozens of mirrors. He recognizes himself as neither man nor angel, but as demon. Father and daughter are restored to their home. She leaves for a date, and he assures her he'll be waiting.
