The Swamp Thing #8

The penultimate stretch of Ram V's ten-issue series arrives with issue eight, and Mike Perkins's cover sets a quietly unsettling tone: a massive, sprawling tree dominates the image, its bare branches reaching across a hazy purple-pink sky, while a shrouded figure — glowing faintly orange at the shoulders — lurks half-merged within the trunk, watching. Mike Spicer's atmospheric coloring gives the whole scene a dreamlike, wintry chill that feels perfectly suited to a story titled "In My Infancy Part 3." With only two issues remaining in the run, the Green has rarely looked this hauntingly alive.
