The Spirit and his assistant Ebony infiltrate a carnival where the criminal Muscles Magee is hiding, posing as the "Bloodless Man" attraction. After a confrontation with Inspector Dolan and Ebony getting knocked unconscious, the Spirit battles Muscles and his gang in a truck. The Spirit ultimately defeats Muscles with help from a phonograph and recorder that Ebony had won as a prize, leading to the arrest of Muscles and the carnival operators harboring the escaped convict.

With help from an unexpected source, the Spirit must fight his way out of an elaborate trap before Alibi vanishes into the night.
