In "Plaster of Paris," the Spirit is drawn into a tense game of cat and mouse when Inspector Guillotine seeks his help to catch the elusive criminal Don Macabre, who seems to anticipate every step the detective takes. As the investigation unfolds, the Spirit begins to suspect that the truth lies closer than expected—especially when he realizes that the Inspector’s fiancée, a woman known only as Plaster of Paris, may be hiding a dangerous secret tied to the very criminal they’re hunting.

In "Blackmail," the Spirit finds himself trapped in a deadly game when Boss Bubble threatens to reveal his secret identity unless he’s granted total control. When Bubble is found dead shortly after, the Spirit becomes the prime suspect—caught between a ruthless extortionist’s threat and a murder he didn’t commit.
