Part 2 of the six-part "The Child Within" arc finds Spider-Man in a rooftop standoff with the feral, crouching Vermin — and the cover by Sal Buscema captures the tension beautifully, with both figures coiled for action against a gritty urban skyline. The tagline "While a City Trembles… Spider-Man Versus Vermin!" sets a suitably ominous tone, and a teaser promising answers about Harry Osborn adds another layer of intrigue. J. M. DeMatteis and Sal Buscema were crafting one of 1991's more psychologically charged Spider-Man stories, and this issue looks like a compelling chapter in that run.
