“Night of the Living Ned!”

This March 1989 issue ties into Marvel's "Inferno" crossover event with one of the more memorably macabre covers of the era, illustrated by Sal Buscema. The graveyard scene is genuinely unsettling — a zombified Spider-Man claws his way out of a grave marked "Here Lies Spider-Man," while the reanimated corpses of Ned Leeds and a skeletal Gwen Stacy rise from their own headstones behind him. Gerry Conway's story, "Night of the Living Ned!", promises a haunting reunion with a familiar face from Peter Parker's past, wrapped in the hellish atmosphere that defined the Inferno era.
