The Shield charges into action on this January 2010 issue, with the star-spangled hero surging forward fist-raised in his red, white, and blue costume — and looming imposingly behind him is the armored, spear-wielding Magog, whose golden helmet and battle-ready stance make for a striking visual contrast. Francis Manapul's cover art pairs these two very different warriors with a confident compositional energy that raises plenty of questions about whether they're allies or adversaries. The back-matter teaser for the Inferno second feature rounds out a packed issue written by Eric Trautmann with interior art by Marco Rudy.
