“The Black Triangle Gang”

In "The Black Triangle Gang," Jimmy Gray—secretly the Shadow—finds himself entangled in a mystery when a dead man’s brooch turns up in his train compartment, mirroring one left by a mysterious woman. As the Shadow, he teams up with a masked woman named Stella, whose brooch leads him to a high-stakes party where a priceless necklace vanishes in the dark. Written and illustrated by Peter Chapman, this 1959 Frew Publications thriller blends suspense and intrigue, with Chapman also handling the cover art.

Jimmy Gray overhears gunshots as he sits in his compartment aboard a train. A man is dead, and a brooch found near the body is the only clue, the same brooch that was left in Gray's compartment by a mysterious woman. Later, Gray, as the Shadow, encounters a masked woman named Stella wearing the same brooch, and together they attend a party. At midnight the lights go down and the guests unmask, but when they come back on the hostess is shocked to learn her diamond necklace is gone, stolen. Gray tracks down the brooch's manufacturer, and learns that Stella belongs to a gang of jewel thieves...
