“Tall Dis-Order”

John Byrne's cover for this 1989 issue plays the fourth-wall-breaking humor that defined this series to perfection — She-Hulk, in street clothes, wonders aloud where her "Golden Age guest star" is, only for a masked blonde woman in a striking red costume to coolly announce herself from a mirrored doorway, while an unseen gunman levels a weapon into the scene. The cover even cheekily warns readers via a Surgeon General's parody notice that the depicted scene "does not appear in this magazine." With Byrne handling both pencils and inks, the composition crackles with self-aware wit that makes issue #4 of The Sensational She-Hulk a genuinely fun snapshot of Marvel at its most playful.
