Jor-El has detected that Krypton will explode and shows his findings to the Kryptonian council, who don’t believe him. To escape Krypton before the explosion, Jor-El builds a small rocket as a test model. But time runs out and he is forced to launch it containing just his son, Kal-El. The rocket comes to Earth and is found by the Kents, who raise Kal-El as their son, Clark. Due to Earth's gravity and yellow sun, Clark gains powers and becomes a superhero named Superboy. After his parents die, he moves to Metropolis and becomes a reporter for the Daily Planet and fights crime as Superman.
