The Scumbag #6

Rick Remender's irreverent Image series rolls on with issue #6, and Bengal's cover captures the chaotic spirit perfectly — a ragtag ensemble of battered, pill-strewn misfits bursting out of a giant moon backdrop, led by a scruffy protagonist mid-chug from a flask, flanked by a high-kicking fighter, a screaming muscle-bound figure, a wide-eyed bearded man, and the whole crew piling out of a speeding muscle car. The tagline says it all: "The world's fate rests with the worst person on it." If you're looking for an action comedy that wears its absurdity with genuine style, this 2021 series is making a very convincing case for itself.
