“The God Complex”

The Ray bursts from a firestorm of orange and yellow energy on this March 1995 cover, his sleek gold-and-black suit crackling with light as he lunges forward with one red-gloved fist raised — a striking image that sells the "Reborn!" tagline with real conviction. Howard Porter's pencils and Robert Jones's inks give the figure tremendous kinetic force, making the character feel like he's tearing through the explosion rather than simply posing in front of it. With Christopher Priest writing and Porter on interior art as well, issue #10's "The God Complex" looks like a high-energy chapter in this mid-'90s DC series.
