The Punisher War Journal #13
In "Confession," the Punisher’s relentless pursuit of vengeance hits a tense turning point when Bushwacker, moments from killing him, demands a confession first. Written by Carl Potts and brought to life with sharp, dynamic art by Jim Lee—his inks by Danny Bulanadi and colors by Gregory Wright—this 1989 issue deepens the psychological stakes of the war between two broken men. The cover, also by Jim Lee, captures the raw intensity of the moment, as the Punisher’s battered form stands at the edge of a bridge, the weight of violence pressing down.

About to kill Punisher, Bushwacker desists and leaves, wanting him to confess first. A severely battered Punisher is tended to by Microchip and then goes after Bushwacker at his house. Once again Frank is almost killed but the fight is stopped when Bushwacker's wife leaves, telling him she can't stand the violence. A final struggle between the two sends Bushwacker over the edge of a bridge, possibly to his death. Dr. Doom berates Kingpin for his failure to have Punisher killed.
