The Punisher #3

Part of Marvel's All-New Marvel NOW! initiative, this 2014 issue pairs writer Nathan Henry Edmondson with Mitch Gerads, who also handles the cover art. That cover crackles with energy — Frank Castle, armed and grimacing, is engulfed in jagged bolts of electricity, rendered in a striking teal-and-white palette that gives the whole image a charged, almost otherworldly intensity. It's a bold visual statement for a series that clearly isn't pulling its punches.
