Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijngaard's The Power Fantasy continues its "Second Summer of Love" arc with a cover that radiates quiet dread — a pale-haired figure kneels in prayer at the center of a spotlight, hands clasped, surrounded by a ring of planted swords, while an enormous, glowing-eyed presence looms in the darkness above. Wijngaard's art perfectly balances serenity and menace, with that contrast of warm light against deep shadow making it hard to look away. Issue eight keeps the tension of this Image series running beautifully high.
