In "Heroes Part 1 of 2," the Orville arrives on a planet once visited by Talla five years prior, only to discover its people enslaved by the ruthless Nazh, who force them to mine Dysonium. Talla grows increasingly frustrated as the ship's orders forbid intervention, placing her loyalty to duty at odds with her past connection to the planet. Written by David A. Goodman and illustrated by David Cabeza, with colors by Michael Atiyeh and letters by Richard Starkings and Jimmy Betancourt, this issue sets up a tense moral dilemma aboard the starship.
