The Old Guard #2

Leandro Fernández's cover for issue #2 crops in tight on a heavily armed figure from the torso down — combat boots, tactical gear, a bandolier of shells, a rifle slung to one side, and a sweeping curved blade held low against a bold salmon-pink background. The composition is deliberately spare and striking, letting the weaponry speak for itself against the deep black of the lower half. Greg Rucka and Fernández, with colors by Daniela Miwa and lettering by Jodi Wynne, are already building something that feels both timeless and urgent in this 2017 Image series.
