The New Mutants : L'intégrale #1982-1983
This French-language collection gathers the earliest adventures of the New Mutants, the teenage students of Professor X, originally published in 1982-1983. It compiles the first issues of the series, introducing characters like Cannonball, Sunspot, Mirage, Wolfsbane, and Karma as they train at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Written by Chris Claremont with art by Bob McLeod and others, this volume marks the beginning of the team's journey in the Marvel Universe.
"Renouveau" sees Moira convincing Xavier to gather a new generation of mutants after rescuing a girl with lycanthropic abilities, setting in motion the formation of the New Mutants. As Xavier reaches out to young mutants, they're targeted by soldiers loyal to Donald Pierce, leading to a confrontation in Kentucky where Sam Guthrie, manipulated by Pierce, attacks them—only for Xavier to be captured. With time running out, the young mutants must act to save him before Pierce destroys his mind. The story, written by Chris Claremont and Makma and illustrated by Bob McLeod, features vibrant colors by Glynis Wein and dynamic lettering by Laurence Hingray and Christophe Semal, with a cover by Bob McLeod.
In the wake of the X-Men’s presumed demise, Professor X and Moira MacTaggert embark on a desperate mission to gather a new generation of mutants, beginning with a young woman who can transform into a wolf. As Xavier reaches out to other gifted teens, they’re hunted by Donald Pierce’s Hellfire Soldiers, leading to a tense confrontation in Kentucky where even the newly arrived Sam Guthrie is manipulated into turning against them. With Xavier captured and his mind in peril, the group must act fast—before Pierce destroys the one man who believes in their future.
In "Initiation !", the New Mutants settle into their new home, navigating newfound powers and shifting alliances—until a mysterious attack on Psyche reveals they’re being watched. With Professor X’s hidden past unfolding and Moira uncovering a secret about his son, the team must confront threats both personal and unseen.
In "Sentinelles," the New Mutants face a terrifying assault by the Sentinels, uncovering a conspiracy that reaches into the highest levels of government. As the team struggles to survive, they’re drawn into a web of secrets involving Professor X’s hidden brood, a mysterious return from the dead, and a dangerous recruitment attempt by the Club des Damnés—while the attack on Psyche seems to stem from a source no one expected.
In "Cauchemar," the New Mutants face a terrifying threat that blurs the line between nightmare and reality, as Psyché confronts a monster tied to her traumatic past. When the creature strikes again—this time unleashing chaos on the entire team—fears from the past begin to surface, testing their bonds and pushing them to the edge.
In "Le syndrome de Boucle d'Or," the X-Men return to Earth to confront the Brood, whose infection has left Professor X paralyzed. As Xavier recovers and regains his ability to walk, he makes a pivotal decision: to welcome Kitty Pryde into the New Mutants. The story explores the weight of legacy, the cost of healing, and the uncertain path forward for a team still finding its footing.
In a quiet moment at Salem Center, the New Mutants rally around Stevie Hunter after a series of unsettling phone calls leave her shaken. As they investigate the source of the fear, they uncover a hidden connection to a fellow student in Stevie’s dance class—one whose own past of childhood abuse may be echoing in the present. With Professor X’s recent influence still fresh in their minds, the team must navigate the fragile line between justice and trauma, guided by the quiet strength of their peers.
In "Héros," the New Mutants crash a carnival only to be ambushed by Viper and the Silver Samurai, who seize Psyche and force Team America to steal a mysterious object. With tensions high and allies uncertain, the young mutants and their unexpected allies must put aside their differences to rescue Psyche before it’s too late.
In a high-stakes mission across Mexico, the New Mutants race to rescue Psyche from a deadly trap while Team America infiltrates an A.I.M. fortress to secure a powerful crystal coveted by Viper. With Karma torn between loyalty to her uncle, General Nguyen Ngoc Coy, and her mutant allies, an enigmatic assailant makes a chilling demand—claiming her, body and soul. As the Silver Samurai and other forces converge, the line between ally and enemy blurs in a battle where trust is the rarest weapon of all.
When Professor X suspects foul play in Karma’s disappearance, he sends the New Mutants to Rio de Janeiro to rescue Solar’s mother, a renowned archaeologist, after she’s taken by the Club of the Damned. As Psyche, Rocket, Sunspot, and Wolfsbane race to free her, they uncover a conspiracy that reaches deep into Sunspot’s family—unaware that his father, Emmanuel DaCosta, is secretly working with the villainous Sebastian Shaw. With Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and even the enigmatic Lilandra lending their aid, the team must navigate betrayal and danger in a city where every shadow hides a secret.
In "L'arène," The New Mutants and Amara Aquilla are brought to Nova Roma, a hidden city nestled near the Amazon's springs, where they're drawn into a deadly power struggle tied to Amara’s father. Forced into the arena, the boys must fight to survive, while Félina is revered as a goddess—caught in a web of ancient rituals and dangerous ambitions.
In "Trahison !", The New Mutants are torn apart by betrayal as Danielle Moonstar and Amara Aquilla are captured and brought before Selene for a deadly ritual. With Solar, Rocket, and Wolfsbane struggling to make sense of the chaos, Amara emerges from a pool of lava transformed—her powers amplified, her resolve hardened, and her thirst for vengeance awakened.
