The New Archies #19

The younger versions of Riverdale's favorite gang are living it up in their girls' club den, and the cover by Doug Crane and Rudy Lapick makes the joke immediately clear — the furniture is literally shaped like giant burgers and french fries, while Archie, Jughead, and the girls debate whether the food tastes as bad as the décor looks. It's a wonderfully silly snapshot of the late-1980s New Archies era, with the whole crew — including Veronica, Betty, Reggie, and a cheerfully lounging character in the foreground — packed into one cozy, ketchup-colored scene. Issue #19 also teases the story "Ghost Host" inside, promising the kind of lighthearted mischief that made this series a perennial favorite for younger readers.
