The junior gang from Riverdale has a Halloween problem on their hands in this December 1988 issue — the cover by Henry Scarpelli shows the kid versions of Archie and his friends scrambling in full panic from a haunted house, complete with a looming ghost, a vampire, a werewolf, and even a skittering mouse adding to the chaos. Archie's quip about wearing "running shoes" says everything about how prepared he is for the horrors of Howell House. It's a genuinely fun, energetic cover that captures the lighthearted spookiness the New Archies series did so well.
