The 'Nam #47

Two American soldiers grapple violently in a field of tall grass on this striking 1990 cover, one wielding a knife and surrounded on all sides by a ring of enemy rifles closing in — making the cover's tagline, "Can they kill each other before the N.V.A. does?", land with real urgency. The image, penciled by Tom Morgan, captures the gut-punch tension of men-at-war turning against one another even as a shared threat tightens around them. With writer Jacqueline Zambrano and artist Wayne Vansant behind the story "Brothers-In-Arms," this issue of Marvel's The 'Nam promises exactly the kind of ground-level, human drama the series does so well.
